Duncan McIntosh

he/himen, ~fr

Hello! I’m a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, studying physics and computer science. I’ve been interested in computers for a long time, learning to code with cmd.exe and Java, and I’ve been fascinated by open-source software since installing Ubuntu 14.04. I’m enthusiastic to keep learning physics, writing software, and having fun!

Projects

  • Sigmund is a anti-procrastination WebExtension. Block distracting websites after a timer expires to keep being productive! Install for Firefox.
  • I’ve contributed to Dia, the free-as-in-freedom diagram editor, fixing a range of stability issues and removing old code.
  • I’ve worked on some small UNIX-style utilities, including atc (runs until the end of a second) and mfi (runs a command repeatedly to prevent it from dying).
  • tmenu is like dmenu for your terminal: pick from a range of options, with search!

Find me on…

If you want to see my code, I’m on GitHub, Codeberg, and the GNOME/fd.o GitLabs.

I also have a Mastodon account on the Fediverse, and this blog has an RSS feed, if you’d like to see what I’m up to.

If you want to reach me anyways, you can email me at duncan82013@live.ca; it might be a day or two before you get a response, especially if I might not know you.

This site features my blog, some interesting ‘applets’ and trinkets, and my PGP keys.

Nothing here yet!

I have a few posts planned, but I haven’t started writing on my blog. You can watch the RSS feed if you’re interested, or check back in a month or so!
